New CIQ

And so today marks the opening of this grand building
known as the

Customs, Immigration and Quarantine
aka CIQ.

The old customs checkpoint will be closed and now today,
the new CIQ will take over.

No longer do we have jam at the old causeway just cos everyone is trying to get into Singapore.

Yes this building looks uber grand nice and new,
however there are certain things we have to take note of.

Pros:

1. We no longer have to jam through the really tiny malaysian customs checkpoint for hours just to get into Singapore.

2. We no longer have to pass through a dodgy building just to wait for hours to take a bus into Singapore.

Cons:

1. The traders near the checkpoints will have lower sales since majority of their sales comes from people who travel to and fro into Singapore.

2. The petrol station next to the CIQ will significantly plummet in their sales as there are no more cars who can conveniently pump their petrol before entering Singapore.

There are only so much crowd who needs to by pass this old town daily.

3. The roads are narrow in the CIQ, as according to Engineer Darryl Chong.

Big vehicles may have difficulties going through.

Plus the vehicles can not move fast lest an accident occurs.

Kancils yes, no problem.

But what about people who drive 4x4s like me?

4. The CIQ is fully covered.

What about the ventilation if a jam occurs?

Will everyone suffocate to death in the arms of exhaust fumes?

hmmm.

Should have thought it through eh?

We'll see with time how this new project goes.

Toodles.
