Due to my ultimate depression yesterday which I will not divulge because it is so embarrassing that even an ostrich will bury itself together with its legs in the sand, bunny brought me for Fridays.
Tears were just streaming down my face and I think bunny's heart broke watching me cry.
So bunny decided the ultimate. Treat me to Fridays and eat whatever I want.
At first I protested, because
a) it was fricking expensive. Money damn hard to earn ok? Don have to blow it off on some super tender juicy piece of steak.
b) i wanted to curl in my room and die. and/or
c) suffocate in the humid air of my bathroom while hot showering, in hopes that I'd knock my head on the toiletbowl and die.
But none of the above came true.
So bunny dragged me all the way to Fridays. I wanted to order the cheapest set. But bunny insisted that I ordered the most expensive piece of juicy jack daniels medium rare, with shrimp and mash.
My God. That truly is a piece of haven in every bite. It totally is like an orgasm on my tongue. Cheered me up, but at the back of my head, I'm still a big fat fucking failure. Sigh.
I am glad there was bunny to be there to comfort me in my times of sorrow.
I hate my life. But i don't hate bunny.
Bunny is one of the rare few reasons why the days are slightly easier to get by.
Thank you bunny.
meow meow. xxxxxxxx

She addes lotsa stuff such as ginseng, tongsam and to my horror, this :

She addes lotsa stuff such as ginseng, tongsam and to my horror, this :

THIS was freaking swimming in my herbal soup OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (actually not so surprised lar, I've known this for years)
This is known as 'dong chong chao' - direct translation - winter bug grass. or more scientifically known as, Cordyceps fungus.
Basically, its a bug in winter then summer, BHAMMMMMMMM! it becomes a grass (sorta) through the process of fungification. The fungus finds a host body and takes over.
Its known for its medicinal values (of which i'm unsure but my mum goes on and on about it something bout energy and general wellbeing) and its like super freaking expensive k. Like RM2000++ for about 100grams?! MY GOD OK. obviously, the more expensive the better quality bla bla bla. but wtf pays so much for WORMS!?!!?!!? THEY'RE NOT EVEN MADE OF GOLD OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These stupid worms are dried and then thrown into delicacies such as herbals soups, birdnests, hamas to make it even more nutritional (i still highly doubt that a super fungied bug gives you superpowers - but hey, the China chinese won several olympics by just eating that and testing negative for drugs!)
it was cheaply sold back then but the prices skyrocketed after its medicinal values were made commercial and people are just dying to buy them. As if they are the elixirs to immortality!
So mum said, 'this is good for you ok. you so weak and fat. drink more. and chew the bugs and swallow them. they are good for you'. WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFf. Already eating birds spit then must eat bugs with FUNGUS growing on them!
Sigh, the chinese really are weird people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

curry laksa recipe
Sorry this pic wasnt presentable enough. I was so hungry after cooking it that i gobbled it up halfway before i remembered to take the picture!
ANYWAY.
curry laksa is AMAZING wei.
it wouldn't be good without santan (fresh coconut milk).
So this is what you need :
1.5 fresh coconuts made into milk
fish cake 1 slice
meat balls
yellow noodles
fried tao kee (bean curd)
tao pok
bean sprouts or kangkung
curry paste
water
So you boil the water to slighlty cook the yellow noodles to get rid of the oilyness. remember to get the yellow noodles without the ghee cos you know, ghee is bad for health! (so is curry laksa, but you know we can do without the ghee rather than the curry laksa!)
anyway, boil it then put it aside.
then boil enough water, with the curry paste together.
put in the other ingredients (except the vege and the fried bean curd).
do not put in the coconut milk as excess heat will covert hte coconut milk into oil! so thats not good either.
cook it for about 10-15 minutes.
turn off the heat and pour in the coconut milk.
put the noodles vege and fried bean curd in the bowl.
then pour the soup and meat balls etc etc over.
TADA!!!
your very own curry laksa!!
yummmmmmmmmmy

Mince Beef Pasta

I made this for Stephs birthday and it was so amazing wei. I love my pastas and its really super easy to make ok!
You need:
mince beef
big onions
button mushrooms
blackpepper
salt
rice wine
sugar
ketchup
pasta sauce
maggi seasoning (little bottle)
a) to marinate the mince beef:
pour three spoonful of rice wine (this removes the beefy smell)
throw in sugar (but not too much) enough to cover the top
add lotsa maggi seasoning!!!!!
then use your fingers to really mush the whole thing up.
i forgot why we need sugar, but we really do. so don skip the sugar!
b) sauce:
chop onions (as many onions as u want)
chop button mushrooms (again, as much)
fry onions
then throw in the mince beef
stir until its cooked
then the button mushrooms
then throw in pasta sauce
then taste
then add ketchup till you like the taste
then black pepper
There, you're done!
Theres no need to teach you how to cook pasta right?????
:D:D:D
Mac and Cheese
So I decided to make my Mac and Cheese after lotsa craving for it (not pregnancy craving, menstrual craving!)
It was damn nice lor!
This is how to make it :
a) as much macaroni as you want.
boil it with oil and salt until soften. to see how spaggetti is soft you have to fling it to the wall and see if it sticks. to see how macaroni is soft, you really have to eat it.
drain it then wash it in cold water so the macaroni doesnt stick together.
b) cheese sauce :
you need lotsa cheese, kraft cheese slices, cheesedale, watever.
you need butter 2-3spoonful.
some milk.
some salt.
melt butter, then throw in milk then PERHAPS, you may need some starch water (corn flour and water) to thicken the sauce. simmer them till you think tis ready then throw in the macaroni and stir till its fully covered with butter sauce. then throw in your cheese gradually and keep stirring them til they are all melted. taste it. if not salty, add salt.
if its too salty, then sorry you're screwed. so because with the salt k!
if you fancy, chop up some cheesedogs or hotdogs then throw them in!
fantastic comfort food, or you just want a night in with the TV!
YAY!

Lontong Kering
By this third blog, you would have realised that I am more interested in food than anything else.
Hence my size 14 clothes appear.
But, neah, I LOVE FOOD!
Went to court today with Vivian and Vincent for J.I.D.
I'm suppose to know what J.I.D is, but unfortunately, being Jo, I don't. And I'm not ashamed to say that! But probably the Masters of Rolls from Lincolns' Inn would flip in their coffins if they knew about their end-products being law-illiterate!
The best part of today is, the LONTONG KERING.
Sold at a Malay restaurant (obviously) next to the Sub-court by a reallllllllllly lovely woman named BIBI.
This place (aka JOTIC) is the hangout of all litigation lawyers who end up mamaking after their cases are over.
So now let me explain to you how special this lontong kering is.
The lontong, being the smashed rice cake/kueh looking thingy, is so soft and fluffy. Your teeth literally sinks in at the first bite and it leaves a sweet taste once your saliva comes into contact with the rice, and starts their own saliva digestion - which the end product is sugar. (I know i'm a bad science teacher, but once the enzymes from the saliva breaks down starch it turns it into sugar kan?- hence the sweetness)
To top it off, the sambal is not tooooo spicy and it is sweet too. All I can say, JUST NICE!
We get to pick our chicken of our choice. I choose the thigh 'cos its the fattiest and softest and juiciest part of the pokpokkei (aka chicken -try saying it out loud). I stay far away from chicken breast because it is the hardest and the dryest part of the damn chicken. I know most girls love the breast because it has the least fat. But hey, you would have guessed that I don't conform to the social norms of being skinny. I LOVE MY FOOD! :)
Oh yeah, Marrybrown has the best chicken on earth. Well at least the MB outlet near my place. I'm not too sure about the other outlets.
Anyhoos, we shall proceed on to make your mouth water. The coconut shavings are slightly sweet but it is just the right combination when you campur the lontong, sambal chicken and sprinkle some of the kelapa on the top.
OH TUHAN KU,
that is the best part of it. Its like an orgasm in my mouth. With every bite, I'd wiggle my bum and I am just filled with happiness! (I know, I know, I'm really simple!)
They do include tempeh (a type of soya taofu malay thingy going on) but I do not like it as much. It also comes with lightly fried french beans with glass noodles and some soft taofu and carrots. A really yummy combination!!!!
Aiyoyo, I really cannot wait till lunch time. It's 1hr and 10 mins more and I just cant wait any longer! My poor belly YEARNSSSSSSSSSSSS to be softly caressed by the soft fluffy lontong, to be lightly teased by the slightly spicy sambal, and to be engulfed totally by the really oily fried chicken thigh.
I have actually also ta-pao-ed porridge from home.
It is going to be a hard task finishing everything.
But my cc is so besar, I doubt it'd be a problem.
Hee.
